Never miss an update

We've made great progress, fully enclosing the back of the building with new walls and roof. In the coming year, we need your support to reattach stone, install windows and finish the exterior.

Restoring a Main St. Landmark

Bottineau County Bank – built in 1900 of stones carried by glaciers and shaped by pioneer hands – is a Main Street fixture in Bottineau, N.D. Now known as the Stone Bank, the building began to show its age and was near condemnation in 2011. We formed a nonprofit, bought the building, disassembled its back to repair the foundation. Now we're ready to put it together again with handicap accessibility and a sturdy frame. We'll reattach the stone and install new historic windows in 2024 with help from donors like you. Ready to give? Preservation ROCKS!

A HUGE NEXT STEP

In 2024, we will finish exterior work on the Stone Bank, thanks to a grant from the State Historical Society of ND. We do need to match the grant to move forward.
